As you can probably tell by the title, I caved. About a month ago I bought my very first beauty blender. I’m a sucker for cult products, so just like NYC’s Sunny Bronzer, the Revlon lip butters, and UD’s Naked Palette, I couldn’t resist. I have to say that for the most part, the cult favorite beauty products that I’ve tried have actually been really good.
I picked up my beauty blender in a recent trip to Sephora. You can check out my Mini Sephora haul here. When I first saw the container, I was thinking that the company had come out with an even smaller version for travel, but I soon realized that it was the full size. When I used it for the first time, I wanted to check out how big it could get when I put it under water. Like a little kid, I was astounded! The beauty blender expanded to about 3 times it’s original size! MIND-BOGGLED!!
So now that we’ve established that I am indeed a child at heart, I have to say that I’m quite impressed by this little pink tear-drop sponge. Each foundation that I’ve used my beauty blender with has come out looking perfectly natural and blended. I’m not sure I would forsake all my favorite foundation brushes for this one, but I guess we’ll see when I pack to go on vacation.
Overall, I do think that the beauty blender is quite pricey for a sponge, but if you are a huge fan of the dewy, no-makeup makeup look, this sponge will be your best friend. It does a great job of sheering out foundations while also providing some coverage, it’s hypoallergenic, and it retains it’s tear-drop shape if you take care of it. Be careful to wash it thoroughly though because some foundations do stain it.
That’s all for now! I’m also going to be jumping back on the blogging bandwagon because I have been neglecting it lately. I have some fun stuff coming up, including my July favorites, my Birchbox unboxing, and a couple of hauls! Stay tuned and I’ll talk to you all soon 🙂
