October Favorites

October went by so quickly, but I’m super excited because it’s finally the official start of the holiday season. Throughout the month of October I rotated my daily makeup quite a lot because I was doing a weekly makeup basket, but there were a few products that I really loved using and went back to during the last week of the month. Let’s jump right in!

First up is a pressed powder that I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this entire month. Earlier this month I knocked my ELF HD Powder off my table and it got EVERYWHERE! I was heartbroken, but I took the opportunity to try something new. I’ve heard amazing reviews of the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder so I picked it up in the color Sand, and I’ve been using it as my setting powder for most of the month. I don’t typically have a huge problem with my skin looking oily during the day, but I really like using it to set my makeup in the morning so it lasts all day. Although I don’t typically need it during the day, I keep this powder in my makeup bag for on the go touch ups with a Bare Minerals Flawless Face brush. I also really love that a mirror and velour puff swing out of the back compartment.

This month I picked up a NYX Love in Paris palette in Merci Beaucoup, and I just can’t stop using it. This palette features some really pretty neutral shadows that are coordinated really nicely. I definitely want to pick up another one of these palettes! I have a couple of tutorials using this palette coming up, but you can check out this one in the mean time.

These two mascaras have been my absolute favorites for a long time, so I was surprised that I never thought to use them together. I started using them together toward the end of the month, and I love how it makes my lashes look. First, I use the colossal cat eyes mascara which has a skinny, curved brush that is perfect for lengthening the lashes and really defining the tiny ones in the corners of the eyes. Then, I use the regular colossal volume mascara, which has a much larger brush to make my lashes look fuller! These two mascaras used together give me so much length and volume, and I don’t think I’ll ever go without them in my collection

I’ve raved time and time again about the Maybelline Color Tattoos, and I’m going to do it again! These little pots of wonder are amazing as bases for eyeshadow, and I love how cheap they are. This month I’ve really been loving Pomegranate Punk and Barely Branded. I use Pomegranate Punk as a base for my burgundy eyeshadow looks, and I love how it intense it makes the eyeshadows that are layered on top. I use Barely Branded when I’m going for a neutral makeup look and when I want a really shimmery color as my base. This color looks beautiful with coral and warm toned shadows.

The last of my favorites are a Rimmel Wake me Up concealer, a Rimmel Exaggerate lip pencil, and a NYX eyeliner pencil. As you may know, I’ve been cheating when it comes to my weekly makeup baskets because I’ve been using the Rimmel Wake me Up concealer all month long on days when I don’t really feel like wearing makeup. I love how creamy it is, and it’s great for under the eyes. Check out my Frugal Find Friday post here for more about it. I picked up this lip liner a while ago, and I’ve been using it on and off for a couple of months. This month I’ve been wearing it as a lipstick and I love how super long wearing it is. I will usually line my lips, fill them in, and sometimes top it off with a pink gloss. My very last favorite has definitely become a staple in my makeup routine this month since I’ve been wearing much darker eye looks. This eyeliner is super black, creamy, and pretty long wearing. I also own three other colors from this line, and I absolutely love them!

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a full review of any of the products mentioned. What are some of your favorite beauty products for the month of October?
