Spring Trend: Orange Lips

Bright colors are always a huge trend during spring and I usually have no problem going for red, bright pink, purple, or even hot pink lips, but for some reason I’ve always had trouble wearing orange or coral colors. I never thought orange looked good on me, but I was playing around with some bright colors I found in my lipstick drawer and I found a really nice orange-red lipstick that I forgot I had! I decided to pair my orange lips with an ear cuff and some rocker chic hair and I love the result. I’m not sure I’d go to school all done up like this, but I think it would be a fun look to wear on a girls night out! Don’t you think?

Ear cuff: Old Navy (It came paired with a feather pendant earring for the other ear, but my hair is covering it.)

For my hair, I was inspired by one of my gorgeous best friends, who recently shaved a portion of the side of her head, and I think she looks amazing. I’m not as gutsy, so I tried to imitate the look by braiding my hair back really close to my scalp and flipping the rest of my hair to the opposite side. I ended up pinning the braid under my hair with some bobby pins so that it would fade into the rest of the hair seamlessly. I finished off the hair by curling it and spraying a tiny bit of hairspray to hold the style.

I kept the rest of  my makeup simple with glowing skin and a subtly defined eyes.

Here’s a closer look at the ear cuff. I just love the combination of the orange, gold and turquoise.

This look is definitely different from my usual makeup, but I’m just trying to step out of my comfort zone a little and branch out. So, what do you think of the orange lip? Are you going to rock the orange lip trend this spring, or are you loving a different bright shade of lipstick? Tell me all about it in the comments! Thanks for stopping by and I’ll talk to you soon!
